This spring is fitted to the Solex (And reproduction) Carburettors. If your engine is idling too fast it could be that the spring has stretched and the carburettor isn't shutting off fully. Also We recommend carrying a spare spring in your breakdown kit, The ends to get thin with time and If it breaks which has happened to us the vehicle will not be driveable and you will be calling your breakdown to get you home.
