This is a special tool for installing the pinion oil seal in Land Rover differential units as fitted to Series vehicles, Defenders, Discovery series 1 and 2, and Range Rover classics. It will allow the seal to be tapped in flat and evenly to ensure a better seal and longer life for the seal, it will work for the early single face seals as well as the later type double face seals (as in the pictures).
