4. Make sure the transfer case is in 2WD, the shaft will be pushed all the way. Put on the metal section of the actuator. Place the rotating section into the metal part. The rotating section should be aligned as close to the 2WD position as possible. See the image below, I can't rotate it, but it should have the tabs at around 3:00.
