How the Audible Output Works The detector emits a tone when its probes detect moisture in the tested surface. The pitch of the audio signal rises as the moisture level increases, giving a qualitative indication of dampness Users activate the device by pressing the side button and inserting the prongs into or onto the surface being tested.
