DRAPER DAMP DETECTOR BATTERY NOT INCLUDED The Draper 34873 Damp Detector uses an audible signal where the pitch or tone increases with higher moisture levels, providing an immediate audio indication of dampness in walls, floors, or timbers. How the Audible Output Works The detector emits a tone when its probes detect moisture in the tested surface. The pitch of the audio signal rises as the moisture level increases, giving a qualitative indication of dampness Users activate the device by pressing the side button and inserting the prongs into or onto the surface being tested. Softer surfaces like wood or plasterboard may require the prongs to slightly penetrate the surface to ensure accurate readings
