An automatic transmission control solenoid valve is a valve that controls the flow of oil in an automatic transmission. It is generally located in the valve block of the automatic transmission and is controlled by the automatic transmission computer. The solenoid valve is responsible for opening and closing the oil circuits which allow gear ratios to be changed. Refers to the number of pins or wires present on the electrical outlet.
